Hello Dr. Lydon,

During Week 3, I came down with a cold that turned into a bad sinus infection. Other than a tiny bit of honey in my tea once or twice, I have managed to stay on the program. However, I didn't have much of an appetitie on a couple of days, so I missed the last meal of the day.

My biggest concern is that I was just not able to do the work out for two days, and the other days I didn't do it up to my normal pace (fewer reps).

I have two questions for you:
1. Should I continue on to Week 4?
2. How might this kind of Week 3 impact my progress?

I am really enjoying eating this way. I am always safisfied and no longer crave sweets - fruit is my friend! I've lost 5 lbs and 4 inches - not a huge amount, but I feel so good about the way I'm eating and am excited to continue on.

Thanks for everything!

Vicki

Hi Vicki!

Five pounds and four inches in three weeks is nothing to sneeze at! You are doing great. Don't forget that a 5-pound wieght loss usually translates to a much greater amount of fat loss, plus some muscle gain. You have likely shed at least 8 pounds of fat and gained 3 pounds of fat-incinerating muscle!

Regarding your illness: since you didn't eat any real cheat foods, you have NOT fallen off the wagon in terms of defeating insulin resistance and should not have to backtrack to an earlier week of eating guidelines. However, since you were unable to exercise at your normal intensity, I do recommend repeating the current week (week 3) before moving on to the week 4/5 eating guidelines.

Keep me posted!

Best Wishes,
Chris

Thanks SO much! Today I noticed that my "love handles" are not quite as pronounced and my behind is a bit "perkier" too! This is quite amazing!
