Hi Chris,
Thank you for your wonderful book. I have been following your program with good results for about 4 weeks now. I had a very difficult first week going through the carb withdrawel but felt great after that and lost about 6 lbs--not sure how many inches since I never took measurements. My questions is about 'falling off the wagon'. I just returned from a vacation. I was able to stick with the plan for a few days but by the end was drinking wine and eating everything I knew I shouldn't. I feel terrible and know that for next time I will have to do more planning to avoid pitfalls. Did I ruin all the progress that I made--completely destroying my equilibrium? Should I restart the program from Week 1? I want to make this a lifestyle change but am not sure how to proceed after a backslide.

Thank you for any advice you can give!

Hi D,

No-- you haven't "ruined" everything-- but you have set yourself back by fanning the flames of insulin reisistance. My suggestion is to go back the week three eating guidelines and stay there for two to three weeks before proceeding to week 4.

Best Wishes,
Chris
